Nurses Week
Nurses Week is celebrated annually throughout the country to recognize the singular impact of nurses on the healthcare profession. Representing the largest segment of healthcare workers, there are more than 2.9 million registered nurses that practice in the United States. Nurses share their talents in such diverse settings as hospitals, ambulatory clinics, long-term care facilities, associations and research institutions, as well as state legislatures and Congress, to meet the evolving healthcare needs of our country.
What’s Happening at UCMC
The University of Chicago Medical Center salutes the achievements of its 1,800 nurses during this year’s line-up of Nurses Week festivities. Scheduled are a Magnet pinning ceremony, advanced practice nurses panel and poster presentations, a mock-trial and awards to honor nurses and recognize their exemplary service.
The 2008 Nurses Week theme is "Nurses, Making a Difference Every Day." UCMC activities take place from May 5 to May 8. Please refer to the following calendar for more detail regarding Nurses Week festivities at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
